Respite Service
Our Respite Service, The Poplars, based in Histon, offers respite support to over seventy people from all over Cambridgeshire.
How it works
This popular and sought after service provides a ‘home from home’ to the people we support. 5 guests can stay at The Poplars at any one time and it is fully accessible throughout. People tend to stay for 2-4 days on average but the scheme is flexible and can be tailored to suit individual requirements.
How it helps
As well as offering some valuable respite for parents or carers. The Poplars offer a range of different activities which encourage independence and key life skills such as, trips out, discos, socialising and cooking, all in a relaxed and positive environment. Referral is usually through the local authority but we do have a number of people that privately fund their service.
