Salary: £12.60 per hour 
This is £26,280 per annum (FTE is 40 hours per week, pro rata for part time)

As a growing charity, we are looking to expand our team of Support Workers to provide valuable and caring support to adults with learning disabilities.

We are looking for 3 female Support Workers to assist a fun and lively young woman who lives in her own home. This woman who we support loves being active and on the go during the day, with a support team who are happy, animated and up for fun. Going out and about in the car, trampolining, or tucking into a platter of nibbles are just some of her favourite activities. She is looking for a happy, kind and patient female who listens to her and allows her time to make decisions, celebrates her achievements (no matter how great or small) and doesn’t mind dancing and singing with her around the house.

Requirements:

  • Experienced in support work
  • Shifts can either be long or short day shifts, (i.e. 7am-9pm, or 7am-2.30pm, or 2.30pm-9pm), and will involve every other weekend.
  • A nurturing, supportive and patient approach
  • Strong communication skills, being able to pick up on both verbal and non-verbal cues

Main responsibilities

  • To provide person-centred support to the people who use our services.
  • To follow the support plans of the people we support and any other relevant documentation
  • To support all people in line with their individual communication needs
  • Assist with daily activities, which may include medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain open communication with the people we support, their families and within the staffing team to ensure needs are met effectively.
