Community Support Worker/Activities Facilitator

Job title: Support Worker
Locations: Various locations in and near Cambridge
Hours per week: Flexible – full and part time positions available
Salary: £12.60 per hour
This is £26,280 per annum. (FTE is 40 hours per week, pro rata for part time.)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? Will you cheer at a football match, dance at a disco or run around soft play? This role is truly special, as you will be providing person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and Autism, allowing each to choose how they want to live their lives and enabling them to reach their full potential.

Main responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support that empowers individuals to take part in community activities and social events.
  • Encourage independence with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Provide emotional support and build meaningful, trusting relationships.
  • Promote choice, dignity and respect at all times.

Requirements:

  • A nurturing, supportive and patient approach
  • Strong communication skills, being able to pick up on both verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Shifts can either be long or short day shifts, possibly sleep ins and will involve every other weekend.
  • You need to hold a full UK driving licence.
  • New to social care – no problem, as we have excellent internal training for all support staff.
