Job Title: Support Worker

Salary: £12.60 per hour
This is £26,280 per annum. (FTE is 40 hours per week, pro rata for part time.)

As a growing charity, we are looking to expand our team of Support Workers to provide valuable and caring support to adults with learning disabilities. 

This particular role will provide support to three different services based in and around Chatteris. One service supports a young man with learning disabilities who has a love of cricket and the gym. Another service supports six adults, all of whom require support to live as independently as possible. The final service supports two adults with more complex needs who enjoy their garden and day trips out.

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence is essential for this role
  • Shifts usually run from 7am-3pm and 3pm-10pm, with a requirement for alternate weekends. Sleep ins may be required. Flexibility is key! 
  • A nurturing, supportive and patient approach
  • Strong communication skills, being able to pick up on both verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Experienced? Then we will value and offer to enhance the skills you bring! 
  • New to social care – no problem, as we have excellent internal training for all support staff.

Main responsibilities:

  • To provide person-centred support to the people who use our services.
  • To follow the support plans for the people we support and any other relevant documentation.
  • To support all people in line with their individual communication needs.
  • Assist with daily living activities, which may include meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain open communication with the people we support, their families and within the staffing team to ensure needs are met effectively.
